Arsenal head coach Mikel Arteta assessed the condition of defender Ben White, who sustained an injury during Matchweek 16 of the Premier League against Wolverhampton.
Details: At the post-match press conference following Arsenal's victory over Wolverhampton, head coach Mikel Arteta admitted that Ben White had to spend a lot of time on the pitch, which increased the risk of a new injury. He consciously took this risk, as there were no other players available for that position.
"He has already missed many matches due to knee problems, and just as he was regaining form, he had to play a lot of minutes. We took a risk, but it turned out to be the wrong decision—basically a ticket to a new injury. We simply didn't have another player," Arteta said.
It's worth noting that White suffered the injury in the 31st minute, after which Myles Lewis-Skelly came on to replace him.
Arteta noted that the injury appears to be a hamstring issue, but the exact severity will only be clear after further medical examinations.
White missed the start of the season because of injury and spent a long time recovering. So far, he has made just 11 appearances across all competitions, with one assist to his name.
Reminder: AC Milan are considering a loan move for Arsenal's Brazilian striker Gabriel Jesus.
