The NBA free agency market hasn't opened yet, but there are already plenty of interesting insights. Golden State Warriors guard Klay Thompson might leave the team this summer due to disagreements over a new contract, reports journalist Marc Stein.

"Amid growing confidence in the league that Thompson's relationship with the Golden State Warriors has irreparably deteriorated, strong mutual interest is expected between Klay and the Dallas Mavericks when the free agency market opens on Sunday evening," Stein wrote on his X account (formerly Twitter).

The source notes that the American shooting guard is interested in collaborating with the recent NBA season finalists.

Thompson has been in the NBA since 2012 and has spent 11 seasons with the Warriors. He missed the entire 2020 season due to a torn right Achilles tendon. In the past season, Klay played 79 games for the San Francisco team, averaging 17.6 points per game.
