Unexpected! Diomande set to join Nottingham Forest in shock twist!
Nottingham Forest is preparing one of the most surprising transfers of the summer.
Details: According to A Bola, Nottingham Forest and Sporting have reached an agreement for the transfer of Ousmane Diomande. Now, the English club just needs to finalize personal terms with the 22-year-old Ivorian international centre-back.
A Bola reports that Sporting will receive at least €40 million as a fixed fee for the defender. The total transfer fee could rise to €45 million with bonuses, and the Lisbon club will also retain a 10% sell-on clause for any future sale of the centre-back.
The real shock is that, in recent weeks, another Diomande—winger Jan Diomande—had been at the center of transfer rumors. However, Nottingham Forest has instead opted to pursue his Ivorian namesake from Sporting.
Both clubs are aiming to finalize the deal before the friendly match between Nottingham Forest and Sporting, set for Friday at the Algarve Stadium.
It is worth noting that Ousmane Diomande's contract with Sporting runs until 2030, and his release clause is set at €80 million.
Reminder: Ibrahim Sangare signs new Nottingham Forest contract until 2029.
