The relationship between Romelu Lukaku and the Napoli management has reached boiling point.
Details: According to Sky Sport Italia, the Neapolitan club has delivered a tough ultimatum to their star striker: if the Belgian does not return to the team by next Tuesday, March 31, he will be officially excluded from the squad.
The conflict erupted because Lukaku's rehabilitation program in Belgium was not coordinated with Napoli's medical and coaching staff. Antonio Conte and his assistants had expected the player to return to Naples as early as last Thursday to resume training at the Castel Volturno club base.
However, Romelu opted to continue training in Belgium, explaining that he needed to regain his form ahead of the final stretch of the season and the 2026 World Cup.
The club viewed this behavior as a blatant breach of discipline.
It's worth noting that this season, the Belgian has played only seven matches for the Neapolitan side, scoring just one goal.
Reminder: Napoli plans to activate the option to buy Rasmus Højlund from Manchester United.
