UEFA Champions League. Maguire scores the winning goal for Man United, Onana saved the penalty
Manchester United won the first match in the current group stage of the UEFA Champions League. Erik ten Hag's team defeated Copenhagen on their field.
The only goal in this game was scored by the Devils' defender Harry Maguire: he came on a corner and sent the ball into the goal after a feed from the edge of the field. Already in extra time, Copenhagen earned a penalty, but United goalkeeper Andre Onana made a save.
After this victory, Man United bypasses Galatasaray in the table and rises to third place. Galatasaray, who are second, are just one point behind.
Copenhagen remains the only team in Group A that has yet to win in this group stage.
In the next round, Copenhagen and Manchester United will meet again in the fourth round match. The game will take place in Denmark on November 8.
