Vitesse, a football club from the Netherlands, is facing severe financial problems, leading the Dutch Football Association to ban them from participating in the upcoming season.

As of July 9, 2024, the team’s license to compete will be revoked. On May 17, the licensing committee granted Vitesse additional time to rectify their issues, setting a deadline of June 17 to find a new owner. Further delays were not possible as the new season was approaching.

Monday, June 24, was the final day for the club to submit all necessary documents, but they failed to do so. Vitesse provided limited documentation, which proved insufficient.

"The absence of a bank account, the lack of an accountant-auditor, and the failure to secure a balanced budget make it impossible to renew Vitesse's license for the 2024/25 season," the statement said.

The Dutch club has five working days to appeal and contest this decision.

In April, Vitesse was docked 18 points in the league standings. The club did not appeal this decision at the time, fearing the complete loss of their license.
