Two African players nominated for the Premier League Player of the Month award for August
Mamadou Sangare and Yoane Wissa are in the running for the Premier League Player of the Month award for August.
Mamadou Sangare has made a remarkable debut with Brentford. A new signing for the Bees, the Malian midfielder didn’t take long to make his mark in his new colours. Mamadou Sangare was impressive on his Premier League debut, providing an assist in Brentford’s 3-0 victory over Tottenham Hotspur.
Yoane Wissa was also instrumental for Newcastle. The Congolese forward provided an assist in the Magpies’ 2–2 draw against Liverpool before scoring a goal in Newcastle’s 2–0 victory over Tottenham Hotspur.
However, the Congolese striker and the Malian midfielder will face stiff competition from top-class players to win the award. They are up against Riccardo Calafiori, Rayan Cherki, Bruno Fernandes, Cole Palmer, João Pedro and Konstantinos Tzolakis.
