TS Galaxy knocks Mamelodi Sundowns out of the Nedbank Cup as they won 2-0 at a packed Solomon Mahlangu Stadium today

TS Galaxy knocked Mamelodi Sundowns out of the Nedbank Cup this afternoon.

The Rockets shocked Sundowns 2-0 at Solomon Mahlangu Stadium in Kwa-Mhlanga to seal their quarterfinal place of this season’s Nedbank Cup.

Siphamandla Ngwenya and Junior Zindonga scored both goals for TS Galaxy at a packed Mpumalanga venue.

Ngwenya’s goal was a gift from Sundowns as defender Divine Lunga played a pass into the middle which was intercepted by Ngwenya to beat Denis Onyango in goals.

Zindonga’s goal was from the penalty spot after Thato Sibiya fouled Seluleko Mahlambi inside the box.

This game is one which Sundowns seem to have approached casually given that they made nine changes to their staring line up from the team which beat Orlando Pirates 2-1 in midweek.

Now they have the Betway Premiership title to gun for and also the Caf Champions League as they are out of the Nedbank Cup.

TS Galaxy’s idea of taking Sundowns into the compact venue n Mpumalanga paid dividends as this seem to have unsettled the visitors.
