Triumph of football titans! The world's best clubs of 2026 revealed

Football's biggest night of the year revealed the club sides that stood head and shoulders above the rest last season.

Details: The world's best football clubs of 2026 were officially announced during the 70th anniversary Ballon d'Or ceremony at London's Palladium Theatre. In the men's category, the prestigious team award went to French giants Paris Saint-Germain, while Barcelona of Spain were the undisputed winners in the women's category.

Luis Enrique's Paris Saint-Germain men's side produced a historic campaign. The Parisians won the UEFA Champions League in emphatic fashion, completed a domestic double and lifted the UEFA Super Cup. In the experts' voting, the French giants edged out such heavyweight contenders as Real Madrid, Manchester City and Bayern Munich.

Barcelona's women's team, meanwhile, displayed total dominance. Pere Romeu's side completed a remarkable quadruple, claiming the UEFA Women's Champions League, the Spanish league title, the Copa de la Reina and the Spanish Super Cup. In the European final, the Catalan players thrashed French side Lyon 4-0, suffering just one defeat in all competitions throughout the season.

It is worth noting that this is already Barcelona's third such trophy at the Ballon d'Or ceremonies — the Catalans were previously named Club of the Year in 2023 and 2024. For PSG, the award was the second in the club's history.
