Arsenal welcomed Newcastle in the 26th round of the Premier League. The Gunners had an excellent opportunity to redeem themselves in front of their own fans after a disappointing defeat to Porto in the Champions League.

And, it must be said, they succeeded admirably. The London team scored two goals against their opponents in each half, encountering little resistance from the visitors.

Mikel Arteta's side seized the initiative on the field from the very beginning. The Gunners systematically pressed the opponent's defense, which resulted in an inevitable, albeit somewhat bizarre goal. Following a corner kick, Magpies defender Botman inadvertently redirected the ball into Karius's net.

A few minutes later, the red and whites broke into a swift attack, culminating in a second goal. Martinelli, receiving the ball on the flank, skillfully outmaneuvered a defender and delivered a precise pass to Havertz. The German only had to connect with the ball from a few meters out, which he did successfully.

After the second goal, there was no doubt: Arsenal was marching towards another resounding victory. Arteta's charges confirmed this assumption by scoring two more goals against the hapless Karius in the second half. First, Saka extended the lead with a masterful strike from outside the penalty area. Then, a few minutes later, Kivior headed in Rice's corner kick.

Credit must be given to the guests: they managed to score a consolation goal. Arsenal academy graduate Willock "sent his regards" to the Emirates Stadium crowd by finding the net.

Arsenal continues its victorious march in the championship. The Gunners have now won six consecutive matches in the Premier League. Arteta's team sits in third place, trailing Manchester City by just one point and Liverpool by two.
