Experienced Brazilian midfielder Philippe Coutinho has agreed to return to his hometown club Vasco da Gama, according to insider Fabrizio Romano.

Coutinho has settled the terms for his return, and the contract is nearly finalized. The last step is terminating his contract with Aston Villa, which currently holds his rights.

Aston Villa is reportedly ready to grant the Brazilian a release soon. His contract with Villa runs until June 2026.

Coutinho began his career at Vasco da Gama's academy before moving to Europe in 2008, signing with Inter Milan for around 4 million euros.

Last season, he was on loan at Al-Duhail, where he scored 7 goals and provided 3 assists for the Qatari team.
