The Los Angeles Lakers are preparing a substantial long-term contract offer for Dan Hurley.

According to journalist Anthony Irvine, the Lakers are preparing a very generous offer for the coach. They are ready to offer him a long-term contract to restore their status as NBA champions.

The offer to the coach is reportedly an 8-year contract, potentially earning him around $100 million over that period.

At 51 years old, Hurley has been leading the University of Connecticut since 2018, guiding them to NCAA victory for two consecutive years. Over six seasons as head coach, he has secured 141 victories with 58 losses. Previously, he coached at Rhode Island and Wagner.

It was previously reported that candidates for the Lakers' head coaching position include Jay Jay Redick, as well as Monty Williams, if he is released by Detroit.
