Thapelo Xoki on the Relebohile Mofokeng revival at Orlando Pirates: The difference is that the Relebohile Mofokeng of recent times is scoring goals

Thapelo Xoki has shed light on the transformation of Relebohile Mofokeng’s game.

Xoki said the Orlando Pirates talisman remains the same player he has been but now a much more sharper player in front of goals.

“The difference between Mofokeng in the first half of the season and now is the conversion. As I said, we are not surprised when we get these scorelines, but for us it’s a matter of conversion,” said Xoki.

“We had a lot of chances in the previous games that we didn’t convert, but this time around, we are converting the chances. But not only that, it’s the work behind the scenes.

“The extra work that these guys are putting in. The extra shooting, the extra free kicks are coming in handy for us now, and people are starting to see the benefits of those.

“It’s for us to encourage that type of mindset to say, ‘okay, doing enough is not enough, we have to go an extra mile,’ and the guys have gone an extra mile, and the results are showing.”

Xoki is right as Mofokeng also alluded to extra work at training for his improved displays in the field of play.

Mofokeng will be expected to play a leading role this afternoon at FNB Stadium when Pirates face chief rivals in Kaizer Chiefs.

The match starts at 3pm.
