"Talk to Dani." Vinícius Júnior literally brushed off the referee during the match against Mallorca
Yesterday, Real Madrid unexpectedly dropped points in their La Liga opener against Mallorca (1-1), and during the second half, Vinícius Júnior found himself at the center of a notable incident.
Every time the Brazilian touched the ball, he was met with loud jeers from the Mallorca fans. Eventually, Vinícius lost his patience and began responding with gestures. This prompted the match referee, César Soto Grado, to approach him for a warning.
However, under the new rules, only the team captain is allowed to speak with the referee during the match. Aware of this, Vinícius pointed the referee toward the Real Madrid captain.
"What do you want? I can't talk to you. Hey, Dani! Go talk to Dani, he's the captain. Talk to Dani, Dani's over there," Vinícius told the referee.
As a reminder, Real Madrid's head coach Carlo Ancelotti attributed his team's draw to a lack of balance.
In the second round of La Liga, Real Madrid will host newly-promoted Valladolid on August 25.
