Surprise Ralani has astonished the football community as he returned to the playing field with Orbit College with the hope of earning a contract after he was announced as coach.
Ralani was announced as coach of lower league side, Gaza United FC in the Northern Cape and it seemed that he has officially retired from the beautiful game.
Now, it has emerged that the former Cape Town City and Mamelodi Sundowns player is under assessment at North West Betway Premiership side, Orbit College.
The 38-year-old last played for Hungry Lions in the National First Division before he was announced as coach of Gaza, having spent much of his career in Europe, particularly in Scandinavia.
In Sweden he played for Helsingborgs IF, Landskrona Bois and in Denmark he played for Lyngby BK in a career which spanned for eight years in Europe.
Now that he is training under Pogisho Makhoye with the hope of earning a short term deal as Orbit College hope to retain their PSL status.
They are third from bottom and the team has already signed former Kaizer Chiefs and AmaZulu defender Ramahlwe Mphahlele in a bid to ensure Orbit College do not get relegated.
Now it’s Ralani’s turn to impress the team like Mphahlele did not earn a contract.
