Miguel Cardoso clears the air regarding his Mamelodi Sundowns future as rumours of Pitso Mosimane returning continue to gain momentum
Miguel Cardoso has addressed his future with Mamelodi Sundowns.
The Portuguese coach is under heavy speculation that his job is on the line and that the defending Betway Premiership champions have lined up former coach in Pitso Mosimane.
Cardoso has endured a love-hate relationship with Sundowns and its followers which has heightened the rumours he may leave the 2016 Caf Champions League winners.
“Regarding my future. Don’t worry about my future because my future doesn’t depend on football,” he said after his side won 2-0 against Orbit College last night.
“It’s just my professional life that depends on football. It’s completely different. My future depends on many other things. I am a coach of a big team. I will be criticised every time. The question here is how much importance I will give to it.
“Believe me, I will not give it too much importance. I love being here, and I will be until the day the club decides [otherwise]. The day I will go I will be for sure a normal man, ready for something different. Until then I will be committed and motivated. I am already too old to worry about things that are just noise.”
