Super Eagles Arrive in Bissau Ahead of Guinea-Bissau AFCON 2027 Qualifier

The Super Eagles have arrived in Bissau ahead of Tuesday’s 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier against Guinea-Bissau.

The Nigerian team travelled to Guinea-Bissau on Sunday after completing their final preparations in Uyo.

The Super Eagles departed from Victor Attah International Airport aboard a chartered ValueJet flight at around 5:00 p.m., following their 2-1 victory over Madagascar at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium on Friday.

Super Eagles spokesman Promise Efoghe confirmed that the team held their final training session in Uyo on Sunday morning before leaving for Bissau.

“The Super Eagles had a final training session earlier on Sunday morning in Uyo before coach Eric Chelle and his players departed for Guinea-Bissau at about 5:00 p.m. The team went on board a chartered ValueJet flight,” Efoghe said.

Nigeria will face a Guinea-Bissau side that also started their campaign with a victory, defeating Tanzania 2-0 in their opening match.
