Stade Malien coach Mauril Njoya on their loss and return match against Mamelodi Sundowns: They will find a different team when they come to Mali

Mauril Njoya has warned Mamelodi Sundowns that they will find a different Stade Malien team when they arrive in Bamako for their second leg tie.

Sundowns won 3-0 against Stade Malien on Friday night at Loftus Versveld Stadium in their Caf Champions League quarterfinal match.

The visiting coach was not pleased with the loss but he is adamant the home team won the battle and not the war.

“We lost the battle not the war, but I have to mention in terms of VAR there’s a lot of kind of I can say mistakes because they put pressure on the referee to go and look at the VAR," Njoya told SABC Sport.

"I guess there’s a lot of progress to make. Yes, today we lost, but I guess we will try to do our best in Bamako."

“It happened because we have some players that are suspended and others injured," he added.

"The bench that we had is what we had to do so I guess in a week from now we will have our players back and will be different in Bamako.”
