Son of legendary Ronaldinho joins Championship team

The son of the legendary Ronaldinho, João Mendes, has followed in his father's footsteps by joining a Championship club.

According to Fabrizio Romano, the 19-year-old has signed a contract with Burnley until 2026. João Mendes previously played for Barcelona's youth team, which he joined in 2023. Last season, he appeared in nine matches but did not record any goals or assists.

Additionally, young footballer Ryan Messi has signed a contract with Ligue 1's Strasbourg. The 17-year-old winger's contract extends until 2027.

Meanwhile, Manchester United has shifted its focus to defensive midfielder Sander Berge from Burnley and the Norwegian national team. Burnley is demanding between £10 and £15 million for his transfer.
