Manchester United continues to seek reinforcements for the central midfield position, which remains a significant issue for the team.

According to The Athletic, the club's management has now turned its attention to Burnley and Norway's defensive midfielder Sander Berge. Burnley is asking for a transfer fee between £10 million and £15 million for him.

Although official negotiations between the clubs have yet to begin, initial contacts have already been made. Berge himself is very enthusiastic about the prospect of joining the "Red Devils."

Previously, Manchester United prioritized Manuel Ugarte from PSG for this position, but it has been revealed that this transfer has fallen through.

Sander Berge joined Burnley only last summer from Sheffield United. In the past season, he made 37 appearances in the Premier League, scoring 1 goal and providing 2 assists.

Before moving to England, Berge had a successful stint in Belgium with Genk and played in his homeland for Valerenga.

It is worth noting that Burnley was relegated to the Championship at the end of last season.
