Sipho Mbule is in love with football again. The player’s agent says that’s the secret to his newly found rich vein of form by the midfield maestro
The 360 degree turn of Sipho Mbule’s career is down to his change of heart and renewed desire towards his career.
Mbule’s career was headed for the football doldrums until Orlando Pirates signed him in what looked like a gamble from the Sea Robbers.
Mamelodi Sundowns terminated his contract in the off season after a loan spell was cut short by Sekhukhune United, who alleged the player was going off the rails.
It looked bleak for the former SuperSport United midfield diamond.
But in came Pirates who seemingly ‘saved’ a potentially floundering career.
“There comes a time in everybody’s life where you sit down and reflect about where you are and where you should be,” his agent Mike Makaab told FarPost.
“Sipho has to take a lot of credit for what is happening in his career now; Orlando has to get special praise for giving him this opportunity. Mamelodi Sundowns, SuperSport United, and all the clubs he played for also deserve the credit.
“So I think Sipho has understood that he’s been given the biggest opportunity by Pirates and the national team coach, Hugo Broos. This is his time to write his name in the history books and create a legacy.
“Let’s hope that he can inspire young players and those who have fallen into doing the wrong things. My only prayer for Mbule is to look back and realise how his life has changed, and he has a great opportunity to grow from here.”
Having steered for Bafana against Zambia, Mbule now turns his attention to the Betway Premiership as Pirates face Chippa United at Orlando Stadium this Saturday.
