PSG will be without the hero of the recent FIFA Intercontinental Cup final for a month.

Details: It was announced today that PSG's 26-year-old goalkeeper Matvey Safonov will be sidelined for around one month due to a broken hand suffered during the FIFA Intercontinental Cup final against Flamengo.

In that match, Safonov saved 4 out of 5 penalties, delivering another trophy to the Parisian club.

Now, Matvey is set for a spell on the sidelines, with 24-year-old Lucas Chevalier—PSG's former first-choice keeper—stepping back into the starting role.

This season, Chevalier has played 20 matches for PSG, conceding 22 goals and recording 8 clean sheets.

As for Safonov, he has featured in only 4 matches this season for PSG, conceding 3 goals.
