Six trophies in one year! PSG matches Barcelona's achievement
In the Intercontinental Cup final, PSG faced off against Brazil’s Flamengo. Regular time ended in a 1-1 draw, with the title ultimately decided in a dramatic penalty shootout. The Parisians held their nerve and triumphed 2-1, claiming yet another victory from the spot. With this win, PSG etched their name in the history books by securing six trophies in a single calendar year.
Details: The Parisian club became only the second team in history, after the legendary 2009 Barcelona side, to win six trophies in one calendar year:
- French Super Cup
- Ligue 1
- Coupe de France
- Champions League
- UEFA Super Cup
- FIFA Intercontinental Cup
Many also include Bayern Munich in this group, but the German side won the Club World Cup in February 2021, so officially, it isn’t counted as a calendar-year achievement.
Reminder: Under Luis Enrique, PSG have won all four of their penalty shootouts.
