Al-Qadisiyah secured first place in the second division of Saudi Arabia last season and earned promotion to the country's top division. With this elevation, the club has become very active in the transfer market.

Initially, the Saudi club aimed to lure the legendary coach, José Mourinho. However, the Portuguese coach chose to join Turkish club Fenerbahçe instead.

Following this, Al-Qadisiyah continued its search for players and managed to secure its first major signing Real Madrid captain Nacho Fernandez.

The newly-promoted Saudi Pro League club does not plan to stop there. According to Diario AS, they have set their sights on another player from the Iberian Peninsula: Atlético Madrid forward and Spain national team captain, Álvaro Morata.

Atlético Madrid has planned a significant overhaul within the team this summer and announced today that three star players will leave the club. Morata has also been linked with a departure.

There was speculation that Morata might return to Juventus, but this could be thwarted by an offer from Al-Qadisiyah. The source reports that the Saudi club has made a lucrative offer to the striker, and the prospect of playing alongside Nacho under the Spanish coach Michel might convince Morata to move to the Middle East.

If Morata is sold, Atlético Madrid would be left with only one forward, the veteran Antoine Griezmann. As a result, Atlético has already begun searching for a replacement, with last season’s La Liga top scorer Artem Dovbyk being the main priority for the Madrid club.
