Second chance! Ajax to sign former Arsenal player Takehiro Tomiyasu
The Amsterdam club is set to sign Tomiyasu on a short-term deal.
Details: According to the renowned and reliable insider journalist Fabrizio Romano, posting on his X account, 27-year-old Japanese defender Takehiro Tomiyasu is on the verge of joining Dutch side Ajax.
Currently, Tomiyasu is a free agent after leaving London’s Arsenal this summer.

The Japanese defender missed almost the entire last season due to a serious knee injury, which prevented him from regaining his previous form and securing a place at Arsenal. As a result, he left the club when his contract expired.
Romano reports that Tomiyasu’s contract with Ajax will run until the summer of 2026, but it could be extended depending on his performances.
Tomiyasu joined Arsenal from Bologna in 2021 for €18 million, but persistent injuries prevented him from becoming a regular starter. He made only 84 appearances for the Gunners, scoring 2 goals and providing 6 assists.
