The clash between Ajax and Groningen in the 14th round of the Eredivisie has been interrupted.
Right at the start of the match, referee Nijhuis stopped play due to fireworks and flares ignited in the Ajax supporters' stands. The ultras staged a spectacular pyrotechnic display, paying tribute to fan Tum, who passed away earlier this month.
Foreign objects were thrown onto the pitch, prompting the referee to make the call to halt the match entirely and lead both teams off the field. Official updates confirm that the game will not be resumed today.
