Sead Ramovic's exposure to Gavin Hunt while working in South Africa helped him when his Algerian team CR Belouizdad defeated Hunt's Stellenbosch FC
Sean Ramovic’s familiarity with Gavin Hunt’s style of play made it easy for CR Belouizdad to win their Caf Confederation Cup match at home.
Ramovic worked in South Africa before signing for CR Belouizdad as he was in charge of Betway Premiership side TS Galaxy.
Now that a local team faced Ramovic’s Belouizdad in the Caf Confederation Cup, the Serbian coach revealed that his knowledge non Gavin Hunt’s style made light their work against Stellenbosch FC.
The game in Algeria’s Nelson Mandela Stadium ended 2-0 to the home side.
“We played against a very, very strong team. I knew them before, because in South Africa, I was a coach," said Ramovic in his post-match press conference, according to DZ Match TV.
"I also now know the coach here, so I know how they play, what style they have.
"We prepared our team very well and I would like to give a lot of credit to my staff, to the team, to the club.
"But, you know, I think the result came, Alhamdulillah. We are now number one in the group and this is very great.”
This Sunday CR Belouizdad face Stellies in South Africa for the return leg.
