The 2026 World Cup group stage match between Iran and Belgium kicked off with a major scandal even before the first whistle. The atmosphere at the Los Angeles stadium was electric and tense during the traditional pre-match national anthems.
Details: As soon as the Iranian national anthem began to play over the arena, a huge portion of the stands erupted in a furious chorus of boos, whistles, and jeers. Fans at Los Angeles Stadium gave the Iranian anthem an extremely hostile reception, showcasing an intense political and social reaction.
