Everything now depends on the US authorities.
Details: According to renowned and respected journalist James Ducker on his social media page, the match against New Zealand in the first round of the World Cup could turn out to be the last at this tournament for Iran's 31-year-old winger Mehdi Torabi.
Reports indicate that after the match with New Zealand, Torabi's visa for staying in the US expired, and obtaining a new visa will be extremely difficult due to Donald Trump's policies, who previously openly threatened the Iranian national team.
Despite the fact that all Iranian players were initially granted long-term visas to remain in the US for the entire World Cup, Torabi's visa was different and valid for only one match.
At this moment, the Iranian Football Federation has officially stated it is doing everything possible to secure a visa extension for Torabi. Otherwise, the winger will be forced to stay with the squad in Mexico, unable to participate in matches on US soil.
