The Iranian forward has been sent back to Iran.

Details: According to FUTA, 27-year-old Iranian national team winger Mohammad Mohebi was deported by US authorities after celebrating his goal against New Zealand by mimicking shooting gestures toward the fans in the stands.

It is reported that this gesture was strongly disliked by US officials, who interpreted it as a provocation and a threat, leading to Mohebi's immediate deportation back to Iran.

However, it should be noted that as of now, there is no official confirmation regarding Mohebi's deportation.

In their opening match of the World Cup, Iran drew 2-2 with New Zealand and currently sit second in Group G, which also features Egypt and Belgium.
