Samuel Chukwueze Praises Fulham Spirit After Narrow 5-4 Defeat to Manchester City
Nigerian forward Samuel Chukwueze has praised the determination and resilience of his Fulham teammates following their dramatic 5-4 defeat to Manchester City at Craven Cottage. The winger’s first two goals in English football played a key role in sparking a late comeback, keeping the home side competitive in a high-scoring Premier League thriller.
Chukwueze expressed admiration for the team’s character, noting that although Fulham conceded goals they would rather have avoided, the squad showed remarkable spirit in pushing back.
“It was a crazy game today,” Chukwueze said post-match. “We conceded goals we shouldn't have conceded but I liked the spirit of the team for the comeback.
He further acknowledged the strong chances created in the second half and emphasized that, despite missing out on a third consecutive win, the team fought until the final whistle.
"The chances we created in the second half were almost there. It was a difficult one to take because we wanted three wins in a row and it didn't happen, but we'll keep our heads up. We fought until the last minute and on Sunday (against Crystal Palace) we're going to give everything for the fans.”
