Sadio Mané Confirms AFCON 2025 Will Be the Final Tournament of His International Career
Sadio Mané has officially announced that the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations will be the final AFCON of his legendary international career with Senegal.
The Teranga Lions captain made this revelation after leading his country to the final of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations. Senegal booked their place in the showpiece match with a hard-fought 1–0 victory over Egypt, a game decided by Mané himself, who scored the crucial goal.
Speaking after the semifinal triumph, the former Liverpool star made it clear that his sole focus is lifting the AFCON trophy one last time for his nation. According to Mané, this tournament represents his final opportunity to win Africa’s biggest prize with Senegal.
“I’m going to be very happy to play my last final. I will enjoy it and try to win it for my country,” Mané said.
