Kalidou Koulibaly to Miss AFCON 2025 Final if Senegal Defeat Egypt

Senegal captain Kalidou Koulibaly is set to miss the AFCON 2025 final should the Teranga Lions secure victory over Egypt in their semifinal clash.

The experienced central defender picked up a costly booking during the high-stakes encounter against Egypt at the Stade Ibn Batouta Stadium. Koulibaly was shown his second yellow card of the tournament in the 17th minute after a foul on Egyptian forward Omar Marmoush.

As a result, the Senegal skipper will be suspended for the final if his side progresses, dealing a potential blow to Senegal’s defensive stability in the tournament’s decisive match.
