SA football legend George Maluleka on the PSL title race: Kaizer Chiefs have the deciding factor on who will become Betway Premiership champions

George Maluleka believes that Kaizer Chiefs have to play against both title-chasers gives the ‘title decider’s’ tag.

The former Ajax Cape Town midfielder said the results Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns – the two title chasing teams – would get against Chiefs would ultimately determine who become the champions.

“Right now, Chiefs is holding, deciding, can decide where the league ends up,” he said on The Pitchside Podcast.

“They still need to play Sundowns as well, so depending on how that game goes, but I think Sundowns have the upper hand.”

Pirates face Chiefs tomorrow as the table-topping team trying to derail Sundowns from winning their ninth title on the trot.

Maluleka who played for Chiefs and Sundowns in his heyday as a footballer said Chiefs have become hard to beat for Sundowns.

“But Chiefs always comes up when they’re playing against Sundowns,” Maluleka said.
