Regragui Rejects Bias Claims After AFCON Drama

Morocco head coach Walid Regragui has fired back at critics after his side’s controversial Africa Cup of Nations win over Cameroon, rejecting claims of referee favouritism. The Atlas Lions booked a semi-final spot after a tense clash that sparked debate, following a disallowed Cameroon goal during the quarter-final.

Speaking after the match in Casablanca, Regragui was blunt, insisting his players deserved the result. “We deserved our win… When you want to kill your dog, you accuse it of rabies!” he said. He added that “Cameroon didn’t score a goal… We win our matches on the field,” dismissing suggestions of officiating bias as Morocco advance.
