Real Madrid is already laying out its strategy for the upcoming transfer window, with bolstering the heart of their defense emerging as a top priority. According to AS journalist José Félix Díaz, Los Blancos have zeroed in on their preferred target.
One of the main candidates is Nico Schlotterbeck. AS reports that Real is showing concrete interest in the German defender, with his name increasingly echoing through the offices at Valdebebas. Borussia Dortmund values their center-back at around 50 million euros.
It’s worth noting that the contracts of Antonio Rüdiger and David Alaba expire on June 30, and there is still no clarity on whether either side will agree to an extension. As a result, the Real Madrid board is considering bringing in a new central defender to serve as a cornerstone for the club’s project in the coming years.
