This Champions League night in Linz completely lost control.

Details: Liverpool defeated LASK 6-3 away from home in a spectacular nine-goal Champions League shootout. Andoni Iraola's side appeared to have killed the contest long before the final whistle, but the Austrians refused to disappear and turned the closing stages into absolute chaos.

Liverpool went into the break with a commanding 3-0 advantage. Ronald Araújo opened the scoring in the 22nd minute, while Bradley Barcola struck twice in the space of 13 minutes to put the visitors firmly in control.

Jeremie Frimpong made it 4-0 shortly after the restart, before Robert Ljubicic pulled one back for LASK. Barcola then completed his hat-trick in the 66th minute, and Lewis Koumas added Liverpool's sixth six minutes later. At 6-1 the match looked completely finished, but LASK suddenly exploded into life: substitute Florian Flecker scored twice in the 74th and 77th minutes to complete the extraordinary 3-6 scoreline.

It is worth noting that Barcola's first goal of the evening was also his first for Liverpool, while the French winger completed the first hat-trick of his professional career.

Reminder: New challenge! Barcola explains why the Premier League is even more physical than Ligue 1
