No Agent 007! Barcola escapes the meme and finally scores for Liverpool
Bradley Barcola has picked the perfect moment to avoid one of football social media's most brutal labels.
Details: The French winger scored for Liverpool against LASK in the Champions League, opening his account for the Merseyside club. Before kick-off, Barcola had made six appearances for Liverpool without registering either a goal or an assist, meaning his seventh game put the notorious Agent 007 joke firmly on the table.

The nickname is used by fans when a player reaches seven appearances with zero goals and zero assists: 0-0-7. Barcola was only one goalless outing away from completing that unwanted sequence, but his strike against LASK has officially ruined the joke.
Instead of 0 goals and 0 assists after seven matches, the Liverpool newcomer now has 1 goal and 0 assists in his first seven appearances for the club. More importantly for the Frenchman, he has finally broken his scoring duck after arriving from Paris Saint-Germain in the summer.
It is worth noting that ahead of the LASK clash, Liverpool head coach Andoni Iraola publicly backed Barcola amid criticism of his slow start and stressed that he had 100 per cent trust in the winger.
