PSL Midfielder of the Season Oswin Appollis admits being hurt at the death of close friend Jayden Adams

Oswin Appollis has admitted being hurt at the death of close friend Jayden Adams who passed away two weeks ago.

Prior to Adams' death, who played for Mamelodi Sundowns, Appollis and the 25-year-old were trending on social media platforms dancing in the streets of USA while with Bafana Bafana at the World Cup.

Following the news of the former Stellenbosch FC player's untimely passing, Appollis said he was gutted at the news.

"Obviously you know when I got the news, it was difficult you know. But like I said, I have to continue doing my job. I have a family to feed, so I have to do my job," said Appollis on Tuesday speaking to media.

"For me, I have to keep on going because this is my job, you know. Things happen, you know, I am happy. I am always smiling, stuff that happened, it happened and, as I said, this is my job I have to do my job."

While still mourning his friend, the former Polokwane City midfielder was named the PSL Midfielder of the Season - on Monday - for the previous campaign.

Appollis said he dedicated his award to both his team-mates and departed midfielder man, Relebohile Mofokeng.

"First of all, I think the team helped me win my award of the season. The other awards, Relebohile Mofokeng, the ones who won, did a fantastic job so they deserve it also," said Appollis.

Pirates face Milford FC on Saturday in their opening fixture for the new season.
