Portugal became the third team to secure a place in the Euro 2024 playoffs after two group stage matches. Earlier, Germany and Spain also advanced to the round of 16.

In their second group F match, Portugal overcame Turkey's resistance. The outcome was largely decided by halftime. Bernardo Silva opened the scoring after a pass from Nuno Mendes, and shortly afterward, Turkey scored a bizarre own goal.

Early in the second half, Turkey's defense faltered again as Ronaldo set up Bruno Fernandes for an easy goal, sealing the final score.

On June 26, Turkey will compete for the second spot in the group against the Czech Republic. A draw will be enough for Vincenzo Montella's team to progress. Portugal, on the same day, will face Euro debutants, Georgia.
