Orlando Pirates leftback Nkosikhona Ndaba on why he joined Pirates: The fact that they have been winning trophies made me want to join them
The trophies Orlando Pirates have been winning in the past three seasons have made Nkosikhona Ndaba see them as team he can play for.
The left-back joined the Sea Robbers from Richards Bay at the start of the campaign after a stellar display at the Natal Rich Boys.
Ndaba is seen as a possible future replacement for veteran left-back Deon Hotto, who is nearing the end of his football career.
“What made me come to Pirates is that I saw that they are always competing for cups and always chasing the league title. So as a player, I wish to win the league and cups,” said Ndaba.
“I got a lot of motivation since I arrived at Pirates. I have been told that the positions are too tight; I must be able to adjust and learn from the things Hotto does. Listening to that advice helped me a lot.”
So far the 23-year-old has featured in 13 matches for Pirates coring a single goal while registering a few assists for the Abdeslam Ouaddou-coached cub.
With his limited experience, he is unlikely to feature in Saturday’s Soweto derby against Kaizer Chiefs at FNB Stadium.
