Orlando Pirates assistant Mandla Ncikazi ahead of the derby against Kaizer Chiefs today: They will be coming for revenge and we are prepared for that
Mandla Ncikazi has identified and concluded that Kaizer Chiefs are revenge driven for today’s Soweto derby.
The Orlando Pirates assistant coach revealed that the previous victory for them in the derby left Chiefs in anguish and this afternoon’s match will see them look to settle that score.
In February Pirates beat Chiefs 3-0 at today’s venue, FNB Stadium, in what was a one-sided match which makes Ncikazi see the 3pm kick-off game one of ‘seeking revenge for Chiefs.’
“Sometimes it works better if a person is coming with revenge, it works better in a football match,” said Ncikazi.
“For us is just to respond. The beauty about this team this season, we can play against a low block, we’re comfortable. We can play against a team that is trying to dominate with the ball. You know the outcomes of those teams that wants to go toe-to-toe with us.
“So for me, we’ll play whatever is in front of us based on what they do we’ll try and respond. Fortunately, we’ve got a very good and mature team. You don’t have to shout very loud on what the opponents are posing and in our preparation. We prepare for all scenarios.
“So, whatever the opponents are posing, I am confident that the capacity within the team will overcome the opponents.”
