Orbit College coach Pogisho Makhoye on their 3-1 defeat to Kaizer Chiefs: The score-line is not a true reflection of how we played against Chiefs
Pogisho Makhoye is convinced Orbit College’s 3-1 loss to Kaizer Chiefs is not a true reflection of their effort at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium yesterday.
Makhoye’s Orbit College hosted Amakhosi in Gqeberha due to the unavailability of their usual venue in North West and the coach believes their display was fat better than what the score-line suggest.
“It’s not like we were outclassed; what we did was give them cheap goals, and it is very frustrating because where we are, we need to fight for every point,” the coach told the media after the game.
“Very frustrating because we had a very good game plan, especially the first 30 minutes. I think we were in control.”
The coach also disclosed that his team will consider playing their matches at the 2010 World Cup stadium as it’s a decent venue.
“It’s like we are home away from home, and we enjoyed ourselves. We enjoyed the pitch; it was so perfect. Why not to come back? It’s one of the fields that is our alternative venue, so if we cannot host at Olympia Park Stadium, the stadium is available. So I will definitely come back here.”
“But after we took the lead, we dropped our performances a little, but we defended too deeply and conceded soft goals. In the second half, we played into their hands, where we played too many long balls, and we conceded from there.”
The defeat leaves Orbit College stuck at the basement of the PSL table while Chiefs are now third after this win.
