Kaizer Chiefs coach Ben Youssef Khalid on their 3-1 victory over Orbit College: We expected a very tough and difficult game against them
Ben Youssef said Kaizer Chiefs received the game plan they had anticipated against Orbit College yesterday in a Betway Premiership.
Youssef said Orbit College were not going to an easy side in an encounter Amakhosi won 3-1 at Nelson Mandela Stadium in Gqeberha.
Wandile Duba, Mduduzi Shabalala and Sipesihle Ndlovu scored the goals for Chiefs while Mbulelo Wagaba scored for College. This game saw Chiefs jump to the third spot of the PSL standings.
“We expected that it would be a difficult game,” Ben Youssef told SuperSport TV.
“We started very bad in the first half. We conceded first. And then later, we started to play our normal football.
“I think I’m so happy about the second half because the first half wasn’t good, I’m proud of the players.
“It’s a good mindset that we were losing 1-0 and came back and won the game 3-1. We created a lot of opportunities in the second half.
“Now, we have to think about the next game, congratulations to the fans and players.”
Youssef said Amakhosi’s approach of ‘every game is a cup final’ is still in operation and moving to the third spot is as a result of that aim.
“I think from the beginning of the season, we said we would take each game like a cup game,” he said.
“We don’t want to put pressure on our players. I think the targets in the team remain the same, managing each game as it comes.”
