Manchester City are hosting Wolverhampton at the Etihad as part of Matchweek 23 of the Premier League.
Pep Guardiola opted to leave Erling Haaland on the bench, handing a starting spot to Omar Marmoush, who recently returned from the Africa Cup of Nations. The 26-year-old Egyptian wasted no time repaying his manager’s trust, finding the back of the net as early as the 6th minute.
Marmoush latched onto a low cross from Nunes on the right flank and, outmuscling Mosquera, got ahead of his marker to slot the ball past the goalkeeper. Remarkably, this goal marks his first in the Premier League this season. His previous strike for the Citizens came against Swansea in the Carabao Cup all the way back in October last year.
