Oh no! Mbappe is set to miss Real Madrid's next match
Real Madrid are choosing caution over a rushed return for Kylian Mbappe.
Details: According to journalist José Félix Díaz and AS, Kylian Mbappe is now unlikely to face Villarreal on October 10. Real Madrid do not want to set that game as a target for his return and are determined to avoid unnecessary risks, with the priority being to have the French forward fully fit for El Clasico against Barcelona on October 25.
Real Madrid officially announced on September 26 that Mbappe had been diagnosed with a hyperextension of the posterior capsule of his left knee. The club did not provide a precise recovery timetable in its medical statement, noting that his condition would continue to be monitored.
AS reports that Mbappe's recovery plan has been coordinated between the player, José Mourinho's coaching staff and Real Madrid's medical team. The striker is expected to increase his workload next week, but there is no intention to force his comeback in time for the Villarreal match at the Santiago Bernabeu.
The Madrid club are instead looking further ahead to the first El Clasico of the season at Camp Nou. It is worth noting that Mbappe has played seven LaLiga matches for Real Madrid this season and scored seven goals, completing 630 minutes in the competition.
Reminder: Inches from disaster! Mbappe was one half away from losing his season
