Erling Haaland has broken through another incredible scoring barrier, but Lionel Messi's benchmark is still standing.

Details: The Manchester City striker scored his 300th goal at club level during the 1-0 Premier League victory over Coventry on September 5. Haaland struck in the 26th minute, powering a header into the net after Antoine Semenyo's cross and scoring the only goal of the match.

The milestone also places Haaland ahead of Kylian Mbappé and Cristiano Ronaldo in the race to 300 club goals. Both superstars needed more matches to reach the same figure, while the Norwegian managed to get there at a remarkable pace.

There is still one name ahead of him in this particular comparison. Lionel Messi needed only 365 club appearances to score his first 300 goals, meaning the Argentine remains the fastest of the four to reach the landmark. Importantly, this statistic concerns club goals only and does not include goals scored for national teams.

It is worth noting that Haaland's 300 club goals are spread across four teams: 20 for Molde, 29 for Red Bull Salzburg, 86 for Borussia Dortmund and already 165 for Manchester City.
