Expensive new signing makes debut! Manchester City star injured during warm-up before Coventry clash
Manchester City midfielder Enzo Fernández was unexpectedly named in the starting line-up after a late forced change shortly before kick-off.
According to renowned insider Fabrizio Romano, the Argentine was initially not expected to start the match, but the situation changed during today’s warm-up. Nico O’Reilly picked up an injury and was unable to take part in the game.
As a result, Manchester City’s coaching staff were forced to make an immediate change to the starting XI. Fernández replaced O’Reilly, giving him the opportunity to take to the field from the start without extensive preparation for the match.
For the Argentine midfielder, it was an unexpected challenge, with the decision to include him in the starting XI being made virtually moments before kick-off.
Attention will now turn to O’Reilly’s condition and the nature of the problem he sustained. At the same time, Fernández will have to make the most of the unexpected opportunity and help Manchester City secure a positive result.
