Today, on March 2nd, the new Formula 1 season kicked off. The first race, as usual, was the Bahrain Grand Prix. Despite the expectations from the pre-season tests and yesterday's qualifying session suggesting that Ferrari had a decent pace, today's race didn't bring any surprises. Red Bull Racing's driver and the reigning champion, Max Verstappen, confidently crossed the finish line first, leaving his closest pursuer over 20 seconds behind. Behind the Dutchman, Sergio Perez finished, with Ferrari's Carlos Sainz completing the podium alongside the Red Bull drivers.

Charles Leclerc, who started second, couldn't count this race as a success. The Monegasque driver failed to challenge Verstappen and lost several positions. Interestingly, the driver complained to the Ferrari engineers multiple times about front-wheel locking during corner exits. Additionally, it's worth noting that the seven-time champion Lewis Hamilton finished only seventh, below his teammate. It's interesting that the top 10 consisted of drivers from five different teams — Red Bull, Ferrari, Mercedes, McLaren, and Aston Martin.

  1. Max Verstappen (Red Bull)
  2. Sergio Perez (Red Bull)
  3. Carlos Sainz (Ferrari)
  4. Charles Leclerc (Ferrari)
  5. George Russell (Mercedes)
