Manchester City are pressing ahead with their pursuit of Nottingham Forest midfielder Elliot Anderson and remain confident of sealing the deal, despite early setbacks in negotiations.
According to journalist Ben Jacobs, the Citizens have already tabled a £121 million offer, but the Forest board has turned it down.
Despite the initial rejection, there’s no shortage of optimism at Manchester City. At the Etihad, Anderson is viewed as a top target to bolster the midfield, and the club is ready to continue talks with Nottingham Forest, who are standing firm on their valuation.
The club is hoping to secure a fee for the 22-year-old midfielder that would eclipse the British transfer record. The benchmark is Alexander Isak’s move to Liverpool, which hit the £125 million mark.
